I just finished co-editing a community cookbook that was part of the celebration of our Jewish Federation’s centennial. We had over 300 submissions, and over 300 people helped test them. Far and away, the most fun was working with the authors of the recipes that were selected for inclusion in the printed book. There is a recipe for ribs that took three phone calls with the author to nail down, and I had to measure the spices myself, to make sure they were the correct amounts. We included photos, family stories and copies of handwritten recipes - a true labor of love for all involved.
