Hey All, I hope you’re all off to a cozy week. I usually try to avoid marketing in this newsletter, because yuck - that’s not what you’re here for! But…I have some particularly fun Hanukkah demos and events coming up in the next couple of weeks that I thought might be of interest. If not, feel free to ignore this note - there’s a new recipe post coming your way soon. But for anyone interested, you can check out the details below. Hope to see some of you (virtually or in person, yay!) there.
Modern Ritual x Leah Koenig Virtual Hanukkah Cooking Party
Sun, November 21, 2021 - 8pm ET
I’m joining the amazing women behind Modern Ritual (are you following this awesome Jewish feminist organization yet?!) for a virtual cooking party. We will be making my Curried Sweet Potato Latkes from The Jewish Cookbook. And there will almost certainly be wine - at least in my kitchen. Participants will be sent the recipe when they register.
All About Latkes! Virtual + in person at the Streicker Center NYC
Mon, November 22, 2021 - 6:30pm ET
In lieu of my own description, I’ll just casually drop Florence Fabricant’s write up about this virtual AND in-person event for the NY Times:
A group of experts on Jewish food will toss around the subject of latkes at an in-person and virtual event at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center on Nov. 22. Gabriella Gershenson, a writer, will lead the discussion, joined by Jake Cohen and Leah Koenig, both cookbook authors; Sophie Rand, an owner of Luxe Latkes, a new food company; and Jeffrey Yoskowitz, a founder of Gefilteria. For those who attend in person, there will be samples to taste.
JNET Virtual Hanukkah Cook-Along
Thurs, December 2, 2021 - 9:30 ET
Ready. Set. Cook! There's more to Hanukkah than latkes. Join me for a tour of Hanukkah dishes from around the world. Cook along, or pour yourself a drink, sit back and savor. Enjoy candle lighting and worldly cuisine - a true festival of lights. Participants will be sent the recipes when they register. Also, check out that start time -Whew! I’m going to need to take a disco nap, but if you live in the Midwest or West Coast, this one is for you. :)
